AHS Social Meetup

April 28th : 5pm - whenever

Thread on AHS Google Group

Social meeting at Opal Divine's. Bring a pocket-able game or two and you might find a fellow player and/or opponent!

A Nerdly Birthday

April 22nd : 7pm - midnight

It's Earth Day and Marshall is turning 00011111. So let's all hang around and celebrate stuff Marshall nerds love. For this evening that means games, legos, and science. Much love if you can bring robots, cuz those are OK too.

Please RSVP on Facebook or Google groups. I'll bring drinks and chips if you bring presents (hint: Marshall likes books and stuff) The invite is open and all nerds & hackers are welcome. Keep in mind as with earlier events the hack space is an industrial warehouse - as yet quite scruffy.

YouTube DJ

April 20 : 7pm - ??

So I've been working on this idea for a while - I'm sure it will go through some improvements.

Objective: Remain DJ for as long as possible/make people laugh the most/get voted down quickest.

Rules:

  1. Play videos (nothing grossly offensive or shocking - goatse, two girls one cup, etc)
  2. Videos must be 5min or less (or stop after 5min)
  3. Longer videos can keep playing past 5min if vote to continue is unanimous
  4. Keep playing videos until you're voted down by majority, or you pass
  5. Each person has one “revenge” video per night, which may be played after being voted down (presumably after an unfair vote-down)
    1. Audience must sit through entire revenge video
    2. Still nothing offensive, although it may be incredibly annoying :)

Planned games and stuff include: Apples to Apples, Creationary, Telephone Pictionary, Core Impact, Apocalypse Plan, Bausack (it's fun, trust me), and Robo Rally. If you have legos, games that take under an hour, or other suggestions I listen.
